
Two local residents have been detained in the city of Lengir in the Turkestan Region on suspicion of a brutal attack on a woman.
Criminal police officers carried out operational search measures, identified the suspects and established their whereabouts.
“As a result, two residents of the Tole Bi District were detained and placed in custody. A criminal case has been initiated. The course of the investigation is under the control of the leadership of the Turkestan Region Police Department,” the authorities said.
No further details of the criminal case have been disclosed at this time.
Earlier, lawyer Aigul Orynbek said that the attackers allegedly broke into the woman’s home, tied her up and beat her until 5 a.m.
According to her, the incident occurred at around 2 a.m. Several masked individuals allegedly entered the house, tied up the homeowner and beat her for several hours.
“This is no longer simply a crime, but a disturbing warning for public safety,” Orynbek said, urging police to conduct a thorough investigation and ensure the safety of local residents.
At the same time, the official circumstances of the attack, the suspects’ motives and the nature of the woman’s injuries have not yet been disclosed.
