“Law and Order”: Astana Parks Step Up Cleanliness and Public Order Raids

Regular preventive raids are being conducted in the capital’s recreational areas. The latest inspection took place at Triathlon Park as part of the Taza Kazakhstan environmental campaign and the principle of zero tolerance for violations, Tiek.kz reports.

Education Instead of Bonfires and Illegal Dumping

During the patrol, akimat officials and police officers spoke with residents and visitors to the capital. People enjoying the parks were reminded of the need to strictly follow public-space rules, including the ban on lighting fires, the requirement to clean up after themselves and the importance of protecting the environment.

“Raids in the parks of Almaty District are conducted every week. Zheruyik and Triathlon are the largest and most frequently visited locations. Residents often have picnics here and, unfortunately, sometimes violate the rules by leaving rubbish behind. To prevent such behaviour, we are carrying out continuous awareness-raising work,” said Altynai Mussayeva, chief specialist of the Internal Policy Department of the Almaty District Akimat.

Fines for Violating Cleanliness Rules: Statistics Since the Beginning of the Year

Local police inspectors are closely monitoring public order and cleanliness. According to police, patrols are conducted daily in their assigned areas. The main goal is to promote a culture of environmentally responsible recreation among Astana residents and prevent pollution of public spaces.

Senior inspector of Police Precinct No. 4 Nuraly Tanirbergenov provided statistics on enforcement measures since the beginning of the year:

• 2,691 violators have been held administratively liable under Article 505 of the Administrative Code of Kazakhstan (Violation of landscaping and improvement rules).
• More than 30 people have been fined under Article 434-2 of the Administrative Code (Pollution of public places).

The organisers of the raids emphasise that every resident should make a personal contribution to maintaining a clean urban environment. Similar inspections in the capital’s parks will continue on a regular basis.
