Kazakhstan’s First Artificial Intelligence University Begins Accepting Students

Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek said that the new university will admit around 600 students this year. The institution will focus primarily on training specialised IT professionals and conducting in-depth scientific research in the field of artificial intelligence.

How student places will be allocated this year:

• Bachelor’s degree: 400 students are expected to be admitted, with the vast majority — 308 students — studying on state-funded educational grants.
• Master’s degree: 100 places have been allocated. Master’s students will have access to both paid tuition and grants provided by Astana Hub and Alageum.

Corporate Training

In addition to traditional academic programmes, the university will provide professional development for specialists working at major companies.

For example, the Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund will send 100 of its employees to undertake specialised training under the MBA AI+X programme.
