Almaty — This morning, the city of Almaty was struck by another earthquake. Residents across the metropolis received emergency tremor alerts directly on their mobile phones. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the seismic event was recorded at 09:38 local time, Tiek.kz reports.
Epicenter and Tremor Intensity
The epicenter of the earthquake was located just 8 kilometers southwest of Almaty. Within the city limits, the tremors were felt at an intensity of 3.
Based on preliminary calculations by seismologists, the earthquake was also felt by residents in the wider Almaty region:
