Mukhtar Tleuberdi Returns as Kazakhstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs

By a decree of the Head of State, Mukhtar Beskenovich Tleuberdi has been officially appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan. In connection with this new appointment, he has been released from his previously held duties, as reported by Tiek.kz referencing the Akorda press service.

The presidential decree appointing the new head of the foreign policy department has been signed and published on the official Akorda website. With this appointment, Mukhtar Tleuberdi returns to leadership at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Diplomatic Experience and Career Background

Tleuberdi brings an extensive track record within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and top-tier government administration. He has previously held pivotal governmental posts:

  • 2016–2019: Served as the First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

  • September 2019: First appointed as the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs.

  • January 2021 – April 2023: Held the dual position of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
