Domestic Cancer Drug to Be Ready Early Next Year — Sayasat Nurbek

 

 

 

 

Kazakhstan’s domestically developed drug for cancer treatment is successfully progressing toward wider application. Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan Sayasat Nurbek said the innovative medicine will be fully ready by early next year. The drug is currently undergoing an important stage of clinical trials involving patients, Tiek.kz reports, citing the Eurasia television channel.

What stage are the clinical trials at?

During the current trials, specialists are determining the optimal dosage of the drug and studying in detail how the human body responds to its components.

  • Government support: The National Centre under the Ministry of Healthcare is actively supporting the research.
  • Registration process: After the confirmed results of the second phase of clinical trials are recorded and submitted, the data will undergo another review. Following this, the developers will begin submitting documents for the drug’s official registration.

Plans to enter international markets

The developers are targeting not only Kazakhstan’s domestic market. The drug is expected to undergo registration in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).

To enter other international markets, the developers will have to complete additional regulatory procedures and undergo reviews by the relevant authorities in each country, in accordance with their specific requirements.

Advanced technologies in the fight against cancer

The development of new medicines is accompanied by the introduction of advanced treatment methods into Kazakhstan’s healthcare system. The National Scientific Oncology Center, for example, is successfully using a unique technology based on artificial intelligence for radiation therapy.

  • Individualised treatment: The new method makes it possible to adapt treatment procedures daily to changes in an individual patient’s condition.
  • Risk reduction: The use of AI significantly improves the accuracy of targeted radiation therapy and substantially reduces the likelihood of side effects.
