This historic achievement has glorified Kazakhstani sports globally and forever etched your name into the history of world tennis,” the President’s message read.

Tokayev noted that Rybakina’s journey to the top serves as a shining example for thousands of young athletes in Kazakhstan and millions of tennis fans worldwide. He also specifically praised the athlete’s exemplary sportsmanship on the court and her graceful demeanor with the public, highlighting her noble character and excellent upbringing. In closing, the President wished Rybakina continued champion spirit and new victories in upcoming tournaments.

How Rybakina Reached the Top

Rybakina officially secured the world number one ranking following a dominant victory over China’s Zheng Qinwen in the quarterfinals of the US Open. This crucial win allowed the Kazakhstani star to dethrone the previous world leader, Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka.

To date, Elena Rybakina’s impressive list of professional accolades includes:
