President Tokayev Congratulates Norway’s King Haakon VIII on Accession to the Throne
Astana — President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, has extended his official congratulations to Haakon VIII upon his historic accession to the throne as the new King of Norway.
A New Chapter for the Norwegian Monarchy
In an official telegram addressed to the newly crowned monarch, the Head of State highlighted the deep historical significance of the event and the enduring legacy of the Norwegian crown.
“This momentous occasion opens a new chapter in the centuries-long history of the Norwegian monarchy—an enduring symbol of continuity, unity, and an integral part of the nation’s identity,” the telegram stated. “I am confident that Your Majesty’s dedicated service and forward-looking guidance will continue to serve the further development of the country and the welfare of its people.”

Beyond his well-wishes to the monarch and the people of Norway, President Tokayev also emphasized the future of diplomatic relations between the two nations. He expressed strong confidence that, through continued joint efforts, Kazakh-Norwegian cooperation will further deepen and strengthen in the mutual best interests of both countries.
