Scandal in Kostanay: Court Shuts Down Children’s Health Center “Svetofor” Over Unsanitary Conditions

An unscheduled inspection fully confirmed the alarming facts outlined in a complaint submitted by parents, Tiek.kz reports.
A Long List of Violations: From Dirty Premises to Staff Without Medical Examinations
During the inspection, specialists identified a range of serious violations that posed a threat to the health and safety of schoolchildren staying at the center. In particular, inspectors recorded violations of the following requirements:
- Proper organisation of food services and water supply;
- Sanitary conditions of the surrounding grounds and residential premises;
- Allowing staff to work without undergoing mandatory medical examinations.
After reviewing the case materials, the court ordered the complete suspension of the children’s center’s operations. The sanitary and epidemiological conclusion previously issued to the facility was officially revoked.
Officials Face Disciplinary Action
The strict measures affected not only the management of the health center. The Ministry of Healthcare also conducted an internal investigation into officials who had initially overlooked the violations and issued the camp’s permits.
Following the investigation, the employees found responsible were subjected to strict disciplinary action.
The ministry emphasised that every similar complaint from citizens is placed under special monitoring. Creating safe and comfortable conditions for children’s summer recreation remains an unconditional government priority, while monitoring of children’s camps will be further strengthened.
